| Dostoevsky’s works are enriched with newly aesthetic character and quality by the application of thoughts and techniques from drama art which further help to convey such profound and twisted thoughts.As a result,those novels are characterized by significant sense of drama,shaping a distinctive style.The Idiot was created when Dostoevsky’s style was shaped,it is one of the most dramatized novel.Based on The Idiot,the footprint of drama art is traced and then,from dramatic point of view,to try to give insight into his works.Moreover,how dramatic ingredients are fused into his works and how those principles and techniques are applied,are both studied.Finally,the charisma and aesthetic impact of drama of The Idiot,is presented.The first chapter tries to outline the structural character of drama that embedded in the frame of Dostoevsky’s novels,in a general way.The Idiot is introduced,to elaborate the classic closed-loop dramatic framework.More exactly,space,time and episode are quite intensified prior to final climax,at this moment,bright and dark field are arranged to further enrich the content.Applying the rules of drama stage makes the novel quite integrated and conflicts quite intensive,discovers the roles inner world,expands the content within limited time and space.After analyzing the dramatic character of the general structure of his works,how drama techniques are applied is studied.‘Show’ in drama poetry is introduced to enrich ’narrate’ in novel poetry,from dramatic perspective,to enable the roles in novel come onto stage of drama,thus,the way he comes or leaves is exactly what he does on drama stage.Then the language of the novel is focused,especially the dramatic dialogue which is not only a way to narrate,but also with movements and conflicts-like what drama art requires.In this way,by combining talks and body actions with potential movements,direct reversion and infection,the contradiction in roles’ inner world and conflict between roles is directly presented to readers,making the novel context filled with dramatic power.In last chapter,the detail which predecessors have not fully covered-the use of props in Dostoevsky’s novel,is considered.In his stage-style novel,considerable effort is paid to set some items and stuffs to belong with corresponding role,to make story consistent,intriguing and filled with dramatic expressiveness.Besides,there are foreign researchers who escalate the dramatized characteristic of Dostoevsky’s novel to the origin of novel poetry,and consider it as a revolution of novel,creating a new kind of art.Here,it is emphasized that the dramatized novel in this paper is not treated as a new kind of art because dramatized novel cannot be narrowly interpreted as dramatic fiction-a new kind of art.The penetration and fuse between novel and drama is still limited both in width and depth due to the constraint from their respective aesthetic norm.Based on the drama art effect of Dostoevsky’s novel,both drama thoughts,techniques is applied skillfully and trickily,to cover his novel with unique style and charm and provide a new way of putting novel dramatization into practice. |
