The stage play "Old stories of the Chen Family" tells of a wealthy landlord family.In the early years came a family division,later developing into:Rixin Tang,Jishan Tang and Muhe Tang.The three families managed their lives separately but still maintained like a big one by connecting with each other.That day,Qiu Zhenshu,Great grandma of Rixin Tang,returned to the plantation with her son-in-law,Ding Maoxian,from the city where they had been living.They were to hold a grand funeral for her parents-in-law,husband and son,all of whom had passed away.After that,she would leave the heartbreaking place forever.Losing her son had always been a great sadness to her.Thus,she wanted to take this opportunity to adopt Chen Yanlu,grandnephew of Chen Zongquan,Milord of MuheTang.Unexpectedly,she was strongly opposed by Fang Shuyu,mother of the child.Following this,a series of conflicts arose among the Chen families,simultaneously showing the chaos,decline,helplessness...From the perspectives of the origin of creation,adaptation and re-construction as well as the drama theme and creative conception,the stage play script "Old Stories of the Chen Family" is created after the creative process being sorted out and concluded.It tries to probe into the spiritual origin,the major theme and detail plot design of this work.
