A Study On The Sacrificial Culture Of Confucius Temple In Nanning

Confucius is the origin of Confucian culture.The Confucian school which he founded is all inclusive,is the official school in the feudal society for more than 2000 years,is the mainstream of Chinese culture,deeply permeated in the thought of the Chinese nation,and affects the cultural development of the Chinese nation.Confucian school advocates the principle of "benevolence,righteousness,courtesy,wisdom and faith",which is the moral and value standard of the Chinese nation.In addition,Confucius’ s thought of morality and education is also the benchmark of China’s political and educational thoughts for thousands of years.He is not only the most holy teacher of the Chinese nation,but also a thinker and educator of the world.He is hailed as the "teacher of the world" by later generations,which shows Confucius’ prominent position in the world culture.After Confucius passed away,he was remembered and mourned by later generations,and the tradition of offering sacrifices to Confucius came into being the next year.Because Confucius and Confucianism were highly praised by the ruling class in all dynasties,the worship of Confucius also changed from the spontaneous folk sacrifice to the official public sacrifice.The ceremony of offering sacrifices to Confucius,also known as the ceremony of offering libation,is a large-scale sacrificial activity held in the Confucius Temple(Confucius Temple)for the purpose of sacrificing and recalling Confucius saints.In the ceremony,excellent Confucian culture is spread.In 2014,the 17 th annual meeting of China Confucian temple protection association was held in Nanning Confucian temple,making the author focus on the sacrifice culture of Nanning Confucian temple.Lingnan region is a region with Zhuang and Han as the main body and many ethnic minorities living together.Its cultural composition is very complex.Nanning Confucian temple is the largest Confucian Temple Museum in Lingnan area.The activities of offering sacrifices to Confucius have distinct regional and ethnic characteristics.It not only preserves the core connotation of the traditional Confucian culture,but also combines with the national culture on this basis.The author used the methods of field investigation,literature analysis and comparative analysis to participate in the sacrificial activities of the Confucius Temple in Nanning.He found that although the sacrificial activities of the Confucius Temple in Nanning are rich,they are all based on the interpretation and laying ceremony.Therefore,the cultural core is still to promote the "rites and music" and "benevolence" of Confucianism.The sacrificial activities of the Confucius Temple in Nanning are the important embodiment of the development and inheritance of Confucian culture in the Zhuang area.The author believes that they have important research value.In this paper,the author combs the historical evolution of Confucius Ceremony,the history of Confucian culture in Guangxi,introduces the general situation of nature and humanity in Nanning,and then locates in the Confucius Temple in Nanning,introduces its geography,history,architecture and the situation of the worshipers.This paper summarizes nine kinds of folk activities of Nanning Confucian temple,and finds that the folk activities of Nanning Confucian temple are all evolved from the ritual of Buddhism and libation.Public sacrifice is the core etiquette of the Confucius Temple in Nanning,and the Mid-Autumn Festival is the embodiment of the integration of Confucian culture and national culture.Therefore,the author personally recorded the ceremony process of the autumn festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival of Confucius Temple in Nanning in 2019.On the spot,the author also interviewed the reasons and feelings of different status participants,and explored the different views and needs of different status people for the activities of offering sacrifices to Confucius.The sacrificial activities of the Confucius Temple in Nanning have rich cultural connotations.This paper analyzes from three aspects: external form,internal thought and local characteristics.The external performanceincludes the cultural analysis of poetry,props and music and dance,while the internal thought includes the ideas of rites,benevolence,morality and government,ancestor worship,etc.The analysis of local characteristics is discussed from three aspects: moon worship,Zhuang folk custom and ASEAN current affairs.In addition,this paper makes a plan for the future development of the sacrifice activities of the Confucius Temple in Nanning.By exploring the contemporary value of the sacrifice activities of the Confucius Temple and the existing problems,the author believes that the form of the sacrifice activities of the Confucius Temple in Nanning is larger than the content,the ceremony is not standardized,the site design is unreasonable,the scientific and technological content is not high,the professional talents are lack,and the propaganda is insufficient,which leads to the spread of culture The effect is greatly reduced.The author puts forward a solution to it.Finally,from the sacrifice culture of the Confucius Temple in Nanning to the development of Confucian culture in Guangxi,it is proposed that in the minority areas,Confucian culture should be refined,coexist harmoniously with national culture,and adhere to the cultural development mode of theoretical innovation.
