| The world has entered an aging phase.China is the most populous developing country in the world, with a large number of aging populations and a rapid growth rate,so that the study of the aging population has attracted the attention of all sectors of society. In recent years,in order to improve the quality of people’s life, the "life circle" planning has attracted the attention of the government and the planning field. The "Urban Residential District Planning and Design Standards" clearly pointed out the urgent need to pay attention to the daily needs of the elderly and provide convenient living for the elderly and social service conditions and places. With the development and change of society, various disciplines in China have gradually realized the importance of the study of the elderly and aging.Topics such as facility configuration will become a hot topic in the future. The concept of "life circle" originated in Japan, where the research on the aging life circle is relatively mature;while there are few related studies in China, and there is still some room for exploration. The life circle is similar to the concept of living area and living space, and has very rich space-time scale properties. The essence of a living circle is to understand the movement system of urban activities, the regional spatial structure and the connotation of the system from the perspective of residents’ activity space.Studies in the field of human geography that focus on the elderly’s spatial behavior and the provision of old-age facilities are not uncommon, providing theoretical ideas for aging planning and governance in areas such as urban planning. However, most of the results focus on the behavioral characteristics of the elderly, and the impact on the family is still insufficient.Elderly people are at the last stage of their life cycle and attach great importance to the family.Time-geography is an important theoretical method for the study of individual non-aggregated behavior, emphasizing the influence of others’ behavior on individual behavior. In order to adapt to social changes, the perspective of the "new" time-geography research has changed from "outside the home" to "inside the home," focusing on the influence of family constraints on individual activities, and providing new research on the temporal and spatial behavior of the elderly and the aging life circle. Therefore, this article focuses on individual non-aggregated behavior, combines family life cycle theory, and uses time-geography activity analysis method and log investigation to select 3 communities in Xi’an as case locations. The community attributes are unit welfare community, commercial housing community, and the village in the city conducts research on the following four contents:(1)Clarifying the temporal and spatial behavior characteristics of the elderly in different scales of living circles from the three aspects of daily context, geographical context and social context;(2)Exploring workdays and rest days’ differences on context in daily life of the elderly;(3)Analysis of influential factors of the elderly’s spatial behavior;(4)Suggestions for planning and management of the aging life circle.Studies have shown that the situations in which the elderly live are different due to the impact of the family life cycle:(1)In terms of daily context, the characteristics of the activity chain of elderly people living alone and empty nests are broken, and the activity chain of elderly people in multi-core dual-core families is more regular;(2)In terms of geographic context, the radius of the elderly’s life circle is affected by the life cycle of the family, and the leisure and shopping activities of the elderly in the community and outside the community are also different in time distribution;(3)As far as the social context is concerned, elderly people with empty nests and elderly people with multi-core families often travel and activities with family members, while elderly people who live alone are more dependent on neighbors and friends, and elderly people with dual-core families have a variety of activities;the life cycle of various families The active companions of the "5-minute life circle","10-minute life circle" and "15-minute life circle" of the elderly are obviously different;(4)The sample has a certain context on the working day(Monday)and the rest day(Sunday),especially for the elderly in the empty nest and the elderly living alone.Combining the results of interviews and data analysis, the study suggests that the differences in daily life behaviors of the elderly are mainly affected by three factors, namely interpersonal, spatial, and cultural factors. Finally, the article puts forward three suggestions for the planning of the aging life circle:(1)Pay attention to the configuration of elderly service facilities in the "5-minute life circle",because the daily life of most elderly people can be within the "5-minute life circle";(2)Pay attention to the relationship between the life cycle of the elderly family and the structure of the living circle, and configure corresponding facilities according to the living circle radius of the elderly of different family types;(3)Make full use of existing facilities to avoid duplication construction;(4)Fully consider the type of community, and rationally plan the elderly-friendly facilities. |
