A Study Of Multimodal Metaphors In The Cognitive Perspective Of The Chinese Youth

In the era of increasingly rich digital information,the application and popularization of multimode are more and more widespread,which is more important for the ability of multimode discourse reading.Metaphor,as a way of thinking and cognition,can explain the connotation and meaning of text more deeply.Compared with literal metaphors,multimodal metaphors have more expressive ways,more intuitive and impressive,and more information.Therefore,this paper starts from the cognitive perspective and takes "young China" as the research object to study the phenomenon,mapping characteristics and significance of multimodal metaphors.Of multimodal metaphor and relevant metaphor theory is made in detail,including the definition,cognitive motivation,type,etc.,after the qualitative analysis mainly based on the proposed theoretical framework,supplemented by quantitative analysis,with video and select 112 image set up small closed corpus,determine the scope of the study,with the help of Larysa Bobrove metaphor recognition program to identify the metaphor.Second,the special significance of potential and the construction of metaphor,and according to the source domain and target domain modal characterization of different configuration of metaphors in detail summarized and classified,typical case analysis of metaphorical mapping process,in order to clear the operation process of the multimodal metaphor and the interactive relationship of each mode,provide general solution method for the interpretation of discourse meaning,finally,from the perspective of the whole discourse to construct metaphor,overall grasp the multimodal metaphor to show the important role of character spirit and national image.The findings are as follows:First,Three basic types of multimodal metaphor are widely found in discourse:multimodal structural metaphor is mainly reflected in the overall construction of discourse and the representation of the meaning of representation,mainly including grammatical metaphor and journey metaphor,anthropomorphic metaphor,that is,to treat "China" as a "person"..Multi-modal azimuth metaphors mainly play a role in constructing interactive meanings and compositional meanings,including up-down,left-right and center-edge metaphors.The multimodal entity metaphor is manifested in the shaping of the status and importance of the characters,which mainly regards the human body as a container metaphor of an object.Other types of metaphor include color metaphor,action metaphor and scene metaphor.Second,the discourse of multimodal metaphor characteristics is the diversity of the source domain and target domain,embodies on the modal configurations:the source domain can be figure language,image as the target domain can by language,images,figure as,and both can be implied,the concrete source domain and target domain modal configuration,the mutual influence of social culture history statute,the video context,conforms to the human mind from simple to complex,from concrete to abstract and activity combined with cognitive law.Secondly,in the process of mapping,there is a significant time difference between the source domain and the target domain,the source domain and the target domain are complementary,and the target domain is eyeball.Iii.The discourse mainly consists of three main modes:text,image and music.Through the working mechanism and characteristics of the multi-modal metaphor theory,the meaning of the discourse is constructed.The text mode plays a more important role in defining the source domain or target domain,highlighting the topic and filtering the meaning.Visual image modes have rich potential of meaning,which is the basis of constructing multimodal metaphors,while auditory modes strengthen the meaning expression,strengthen the construction and performance of metaphor.Iv.Through the above multi-modal metaphors,"China’s youth" constructs an image of a great country with continuous development and increasing comprehensive strength,fully demonstrates the noble spirit of continuous struggle,courage to fight and patriotism of Chinese youth,and plays an important role of coherence in the discourse.Through the study of "The Chinese Youth",the general adaptation of multimodal metaphor has been confirmed,and the categories of its research have been expanded.However multimodal metaphor research has not yet formed a complete analysis framework,at present is still in its infancy,in this paper,the dynamic video of multimodal discourse metaphor has carried on the preliminary exploration,and hope to be able to to enrich the development of multimodal metaphor studies,make some expansion,to the research of the theory provide new evidence,as well as the spread of sex is strong,compact information ri-ch in content,close to the people the video production and interpretation of li-fe to provide effective reference.
