Interpretation Of Multimodal Metaphtonymy Based On Multi National Flag Of The World

Traditional cognitive linguistics research defines metaphor phenomenon as purely language modal metaphor phenomenon, and such as Forceville and other representatives make the conceptual metaphor of pure linguistics expand to the study of multimodal platform. Multimodal metaphor is the source domain and the target domain by different modes to represent the metaphor, and representative scholars focused on some language classes such as music, advertisement, film, political cartoons. Few scholars will expand the study objects to the statue, car logo, school badge, national emblem, flag and so on. Flags of all the countries around the world mainly use graphics, colors, text, concrete image, typography design to ingeniously design, and through the combination of these different symbols to interpret the deep meaning of the flag, which constitutes a multimodal metaphor.The domestic and foreign scholars of systemic functional linguistics have studied the social semiotics of multimodal discourse, but their research objects have some limitations.The representative figures of the cognitive linguistic school recognize the importance of the combination of theoretical construction and the emerging genre and the like. Research is carried out under the guidance of Forceville. The selected language class range has been extended, and analysis of the text, image, sound and interactions between the different modes, and also discusses the interactive relationship between multimodal in the presence of metaphor and metonymy. In conclusion, the results of the present study let us have a clear and profound understanding of the development of multimodal metaphor, but multimodal metaphor as a whole dynamic construction process, still need to further supplement and perfection.Multi national flag metaphor involve color, graphics, images, text, and other major modes.This study intends to in the perspective of multimodal metaphor theory, use Conceptual Integration Theory supplemented by Conceptual Metaphor and Metonymy, and select some typical flag metaphor cases to analyze, and explore the relationship between metaphor and metonymy of flag. Let us grasp the overall meaning of multimodal metaphor is how to build, and ultimately excavate more extensive space for multimodal metaphor study, at the same time, it will expand the vision of human research in cognitive linguistics.
