Song Shou Study

Song Shou was an important civil servant,scholar,calligrapher and bibliographer in the early Northern Song Dynasty.Song Shou made great achievements in politics and many other aspects in his life,but his conservative and moderate style failed to attract the attention of the academic circle.This paper tries to outline a more comprehensive Song Shou by discussing his political career,personal achievements and family influence.In terms of his political career,this paper summarizes Song Shou’s main political activities and analyzes his role and mentality in various political events.Generally speaking,Song Shou was a conservative and mature politician,who was always loyal to the imperial power and Zhao Song Dynasty,and had a loose relationship with Lv Yijian.In terms of personal achievements,this paper focuses on his achievements in books collecting philology and literature.Song Shou was an important bibliographer in the early period of the Northern Song Dynasty.He was a historian and had a lot of achievements.In literature,Song Shou was good at writing official documents,his articles were highly praised,and his poetic style belonged to the Xi Kun Style.However,due to the serious loss of his works and the fact that no influential works have been handed down to the world,it is impossible to evaluate him as a litterateur or poet.In terms of family influence,Song Shou played a link between the roles of his family.His grandfather mother and father were very important to him during his life and he provided great opportunities for his younger brother and his two sons.At the same time,Song Shou not only benefited from his elders,but also repaid them in different ways.
