Research On Chen Weiren’s Biographical Writing

Chen Weiren,a writer from Shanxi Province,was once a member of the Writers Association of Shanxi Province.After retiring in 2001,he returned to the literary world and began to write biographies.He has authored more than ten biographical works such as "Tang Dacheng with China literary world in the past fifty years " and "Ten faces of Shanxi literary world".This article takes Chen Weiren’s biographical literature creation as a case of biographical literature creation since the new century,and examines the characteristics and achievements of Chen Weiren’s biographical literature creation.It is divided into three chapters for discussion.The first chapter mainly examines the characterization in Chen Wei’s biography,which is divided into three parts.First of all,the first section summarizes the main types of subject in Chen Weiren’s biography and the characteristics and methods of characterization;Secondly,the biography mainly uses historical and psychological methods to explain the fate and personality of the subject;Finally,taking the biography of Zhao Shuli and the biography of Zhao Yu as an example,this article analyzes the presentation of the subject’s works in Chen Weiren’s biography,and explores the unique value of the author’s biography to the study of the author and his works.The second chapter mainly connects the Chinese contemporary literature history and literary production mode,and analyzes the themes in Chen Weiren’s biography of writers.First of all,the biography describes the generation and evolution of the sectarian relations in the Chinese literary world,and the negative effects on the literati themselves and the development of literature.Secondly,Chen Weiren thought about the complex relationship between the system and the writer in his biography,showing that in the 1950 s and 1970 s,the identity requirements of writers changed due to the regulations of the contemporary literary system.Andthey need to transform their identities through ideological transformation,from which we can see the writers’ mentality changes in the process of ideological reform.The third part focuses on analyzing the depiction and display of the contemporary literary scene in biography of Tang Dacheng.The third chapter analyzes Chen Weiren’s historical pursuit in the collection of biographical materials.This is manifested in two aspects:the use of oral historical methods in biographical writing and rigorous examination of historical materials.In addition,Chen Weiren has a strong problem awareness in the use of materials,which reflects the biographer’s reflection on the intellectuals themselves and the questioning of real life.
