Aggression always occurs in the certain background of peer communication,which affects the formation and development of peer relationship,such as peer acceptance and peer status.Peer acceptance as a social index in peer relationship,can reflect the quality of children’s social activities.Aggression tends to predict lower peer acceptance,but some positive traits have been found to promote peer acceptance in aggression.Humor is not a positive advantage,a character trait,but also the important coping strategy in the social development.Meanwhile,humor involves cognition,emotion,behavior.It is an integrated structure and plays an important role in interpersonal communication.Psychological and social-cognitive theories of humor suggest that humor is an important feature of social interactions and relationships during childhood and adolescence.As an adaptive coping strategy,humor can act as a stress buffer and may be effective in relieving bad peer relationships and aggression.Therefore,this study explores the impact of aggression(physical aggression,relational aggression)on peer acceptance in children’s school environment from the perspective of humor.Participants were 427 children(247 boys and 205 girls)from grade 3 to 5 from the elementary school,Participants completed the Sense of Humor Scale and Children`s Humor Style Questionnaire.And peer acceptance,aggression(physical aggression,relational aggression)measured on peer nomination of liking and disliking.The main results were as following :(1)The correlation among relational aggression,physical aggression,and peer acceptance were significant.(2)Affiliative humor,Self-enhancing humor in the Children`s Humor Style Questionnaire had a moderating role in the relations between aggression(physical aggression,relational aggression)and peer acceptance.(3)Humor-coping in the Sense of Humor had a moderating role in the relations between relational aggression and peer acceptance.
