After the establishment of the Ming Dynasty,Zhu Yuanzhang followed the household registration management system of the Yuan Dynasty,intending to establish a hierarchical society with hereditary and stable identity and occupation,each occupation corresponding to a kind of tax service or called Lijia household service society.Especially in the Jiangnan area,the military service was particularly heavy,and the personal freedom of the people was strictly controlled.Starting from the Chenghua period(AD 1465-1487),with the development of the Jiangnan economy,the towns and cities grew,and social customs became more and more profitable.From frugality to luxury,the household administration system gradually disintegrated,and the personal dependency relationship weakened.The social structure of the Jiangnan was changing,people’s awareness of identity boundaries gradually blurred,and the social order of respect and humility lost its balance.People wanted to change the current situation,longed for an equal society,and people paid more and more attention to imperial examinations.People of all walks of life seeked wealth and fame.In the eyes of the people,imperial examinations could not only improve the social status and get rid of the original status,but also obtain the right to be exempted from service.It could also make the family grow and prosper,and its reputation would become higher and higher,and became the local leader.In such a big background of the times,Yuan Huang combined his own experience,linked his career with good and evil,and explained to people through the "Liao-Fan’s Four Lessons" that through doing good and accumulating virtue,fate can be controlled in his own hands,and even affect the rise and fall of a family.The people and things in the goodness of the "Liao-Fan’s Four Lessons" are basically derived from the people and things around Yuan Huang,and they maintain local power and form a strong relationship through marriage,hobbies,associations and other activities.The network map presents a certain locality;Quantifying the good and hoping for career reflects the social mentality of Jiangnan people at that time.The stories are easy to understand and can be accepted and convinced by the general public.Under the guidance of the central ideology of the "Liao-Fan’s Four Lessons",the people’s class was encouraged to a certain extent,and they moved to the gentry class through imperial examinations,which caused a certain social flow.The "Liao-Fan’s Four Lessons" follows the trend of the times and reflects the unique characteristics of Jiangnan society in the era in which Yuan Huang lived.
