A Comparative Study Of The Famous Paintings Of Past Dynasties And The Biography Of Famous Artists In Italian From The Perspective Of Literature

Zhang Yanyuan’s(815-907)and Giorgio Vasari’s(1511-1574)respectively are the first art history in the true sense of Chinese and Western art history.They mainly record the life and achievements of artists.There have been a lot of researches on these two works in the future,but few of them put together for systematic comparison.These two works are classic works that can not be bypassed to understand the art history of China and the West.Although they are produced in different times and different cultural backgrounds,there are many comparability in the view of art history,the tradition of writing history,writing style,narrative style,etc.This paper uses the methods of philology and comparative study,based on the specific texts of the two works,combined with the background of the two authors,and around the two authors’ views on art history and writing mode for comparison,and discusses the similarities and differences between the two in view of some specific aesthetic issues.The purpose is to open a dialogue between China and Europe in the field of art history through the comparison of the two eastern and Western works So as to explore the different artistic forms and aesthetic characters between China and the West.The comparison of these similarities and differences will help us to sort out the development of Chinese and Western art history,and build a bridge for the comparison of the early art theories between China and the West.In addition,the development of Fine Arts in China and Europe belong to different regional fine arts traditions,but in the perspective of global art history research,they all make certain contributions to the overall human art history.They are all human beings that we can measure the value of art traditions in specific regions in the framework of world art history by comparing these two works.Therefore,this paper is not only to explore the differences in the concept and writing mode of art history between the two eastern and Western works,but also to open up the possibility of dialogue between China and Europe in the field of art history through a detailed comparison of the texts,so as to explore the different art history forms and aesthetic characters between them.
