In recent years,the central government pays special attention to the cultivation of minors’ ideological and moral construction.With the increasing attention to education,the requirements for English teachers are also gradually improved.English education is not only the teaching of English knowledge,but also the guidance of ideological and cultural awareness.The cultivation of core literacy is achieved through teaching.The ideological and political curriculum advocates the combination of "three complete education" and subject curriculum.English as a humanistic subject,high school English textbooks contain rich ideological and political materials and moral education resources,which provides convenience for the ideological and political education of English subjects.As an important part of English teaching,reading teaching is an important way to cultivate students’ comprehensive application ability.Therefore,the integration of ideological and political education into senior high school English reading teaching is the general trend and feasible.Before the experiment,the author understands the current situation of reading teaching through the form of interviews,the results show that some high school English teachers are lack of ideological and political education consciousness,which leads to the lack of ideological and political education in classroom teaching.Therefore,to explore the ideological and political teaching mode is becoming an urgent task in senior high school English teaching practice.Based on the theory of multiple intelligence,target taxonomy,domino effect and holistic education theory,this study aims to cultivate students’ reading literacy,try to integrate the ideological and political education into senior high school English teaching,and explore the ideological and political points of teaching materials,we should lock in the socialist core values and Chinese traditional cultural values,design the ideological and political teaching content,carry out rich and diversified classroom activities,and adopt the "one point,three sides" ideological and political teaching mode,which not only guides students to actively learn English knowledge,but also cultivates students’ thinking quality and cultural literacy,improves students’ sense of cultural identity and belonging,cultivates students’ awareness of home and country.In this study,the author takes the Class 3 Grade 1(experimental class)and Class 5 Grade1(control class)of a senior high school in Yanta District,Xi’an City,Shaanxi Province as the experimental objects,adopts the methods of questionnaire survey,interview,observation and experiment,and carries out the reading teaching of ideological and political education for many times in the four months of teaching practice.Because of limited time and space,this study selected three teaching cases of ideological and political reading.Through the experiment,it is found that the reading teaching mode of ideological and political education not only effectively improves students’ reading literacy,but also improves students’ English reading performance.The purpose of this study is to provide ideas and methods for the further integration of ideological and political education into senior high school English reading teaching.
