George Enescu(1881--1955),one of the most famous musicians in Romania,is a music educator,violinist,pianist,composer and conductor.The second violin and piano sonata in f minor is made by Georges Enescu in France in 1899.The sonata is of great significance in his creative career.After that,it formed his own unique style,combining national music and modern composing techniques,which has an important status throughout the history of music in the world and has a high academic research value.This sonata is a milestone in all of George Enescu’s works.It is vigorous,magnificent,sincere and skillful that reflects the highly consistent harmony between violin performance and piano performance.This thesis mainly studies the performance characteristics of the second violin and piano sonata in f minor through three chapters.The first chapter briefly introduces the life of George Enescu and the creating background of his works;the second chapter analyzes the musical form structure and the creating style;the third chapter focus on the actual performance techniques of the sonata through the author’s learning process and playing experience.It can be helpful to the performers who play the second violin and piano sonata in f minor in the future.
