| The late Ming Dynasty was a period of intense social turmoil,which made the path of the literati very difficult.At this time,the economic prosperity of the Jiangnan region caused changes in the social structure,and in this environment,in order to seek the realization of self-worth and spiritual ideals,a group of literati was born,unlike the "hermits" of the past,who claimed to be retired while participating in association activities.They pursued spiritual release by building gardens,enjoying flowers and tea,and playing with artifacts,highlighting the unique aesthetic taste of the literati.They pursued an elegant and transcendent aesthetic realm of artifacts to highlight their special identity and spiritual repository.At that time,most literati in the Jiangnan region failed in their career path and began to "retired".They tried to construct the aesthetic pursuit of artistic cultivation and spiritual realm through the aesthetic way of fun,so as to create an ideal aesthetic life and enjoy the pleasure of personal life.Late Ming literati fetish,these aesthetic interests to life artifacts as a carrier,the preferred artifacts in the notes to express the love of the artifacts.They started from the level of living artifacts to show the beauty hidden in daily life artifacts,forming a kind of aesthetic thought about living artifactsThe thesis explores the aesthetics of living objects in the notebooks of literati in Jiangnan in the late Ming Dynasty from the following aspects: firstly,the political and economic background of Jiangnan society in the late Ming Dynasty is used as a background to study why so many literati paid attention to objects in their notebooks;secondly,what kinds of living objects appear in the notebooks of literati in Jiangnan in the late Ming Dynasty and the scenes in which they appear,and what kinds of living objects are broadly classified;secondly,the aesthetic implications of the living objects in the notebooks of literati in Jiangnan in the late Ming Dynasty are analyzed through the Finally,we discuss the literati’s identity and aesthetic thoughts on life as reflected by the artifacts in these literati’s notebooks. |
