| The Bryn Mawr Summer School for Women Workers in Industry,a pioneering educational program for workers’ education,especially women’s education,was held at Bryn Mawr College in the early 20 th century,reflecting not only the trend of cooperation between universities and workers’ education in the United States in the1920 s,but also the evolution of workers’ education,the feminist movement,educational thinking and philanthropic activities in the United States at that time.In 1921,the Bryn Mawr Summer School for Women Workers in Industry was founded at Bryn Mawr College with the support of people from all walks of life,marking the official establishment of the Bryn Mawr Summer School for Women Workers in Industry.In the 1930 s,the Bryn Mawr Summer School was plagued by the Great Depression and the labor movement.In the 1930 s,the Bryn Mawr Summer School was plagued by the Depression and the labor movement.This led to the termination and transformation of the Bryn Mawr Summer School for Women Workers in Industry.While the Bryn Mawr Summer School for Women Workers in Industry had a positive impact on its faculty and students and on the development of worker education in the United States,especially the education of women workers,it also had some problems.A study of this pioneering American women’s education program will help deepen our understanding of worker education in the United States and provide lessons for cooperation between universities and workers in China. |
