As the pace of urbanization speeds up, the country sees a dramatic increase in the number of children of peasant workers who make a living by working in cities, under this circumstance, the importance of these children have in adjusting themselves to new condition is emerging. The paper deals with the psychological upheaval one has to encounter when moves from the suburban cultural background to the urban one, which differs drastically, as well as the role art education plays in helping them assimilating into the unfamiliar urban cultural background. Through the case study of a school for children of peasant workers, the paper develops in a two-dimensional way: teacher/student, city/countryside. Meanwhile, the paper tries to reveal the mental feelings of these children in new environment through a comprehensive studying means like questionnaires for both students and teachers, interviews and so on. Also, use the practice for the individual case to research on the status of art education form Classroom, through the methodology of "action study", in the real teaching and learning environment, like observation, data-collecting, case studying during the class, the paper discusses what type of art education can be instrumental in helping the children of peasant workers assimilate into the urban culture.
