The Study Of Urban Novels In Ningxia Since The New Period

The contemporary Chinese urban novel emerged in the 1980s,and has experienced a process of continuous development,enrichment and expansion.The city novel focuses on the rapidly changing city life and expresses the material landscape of the city and the spiritual outlook of the citizens.Since the beginning of the new era,Ningxia writers have witnessed the great changes in urban development.The city is no longer hidden behind the countryside as in the past,but has become the most important literary landscape,full of material temptation,along with opportunities and challenges.Through sorting out the works of urban novels in Ningxia since the new period,we can see the writers’ urban experience with a sense of The Times and their strong concern for reality.Using the method of text close reading,social and historical criticism and interdisciplinary research,this paper tries to summarize and analyze the city novels of Ningxia since the new period with the clue of time,so as to reevaluate the significance and value of the city novels of Ningxia.This paper consists of three chapters.Firstly,this paper gives a basic overview of Chinese city novels since the new period,and on this basis,it sorts out the development context of Ningxia city novels since the new period.It holds that the Ningxia city novels since the new period made their first appearance in the 1980s,and after ten years of continuous growth,Both from the number of creation and content have made great progress;Second,since the new time ningxia city novel’s theme of many aspects,including the survival am revealing at all levels in the city,the city people insight into the psychological state,on the meaning of daily life,the attention to urban women fate,etc.,through to the value of theme highlights the significance of urban novels.The last chapter starts from the writing method,and discusses the rich characters,unique language style and varied narrative skills of Ningxia city novels since the new period,in order to understand the artistic peculiarity of Ningxia city novels.The epilogue summarizes the gains and losses of urban novels in Ningxia since the new period.
