Research On The Body Concept From The Post-human Perspective

The main purpose of this paper is to study the concept of human body from the perspective of post-humanism,mainly adopting the research methods of conceptual history,the inductive and the close reading which includes the following aspects:Research,firstly,organizes the previous connotations of human body concept and summarizes its historical context.Secondly,reviews the process of theoretical development from humanism to post-humanism,and expounds the theoretical background of post-humanism.Thirdly,Illustrated by the example of literary works,this paper summarizes the concept and nature of human body from the perspective of post-humanism,and sort out how the definition of human body differs from previews concepts in the view of comparative.Fourthly,research on the background of the emergence of the posthuman bodies.Lastly,this paper studies the practices of post-humanism body concept in it in order to inspire reflections on the limitations and implications of post-humanism body concept and bring a new vision to literary works study.In this paper,the first part systematically organizes and summarizes the concept of human body in western social theory.This part takes time as the context and summarizes the theoretical results of the body concept from ancient Greece to the present.The concept of body is not static.From ancient Greece to the 17th century,the body was an appendage of the soul,and the dichotomy of mind and body occupied the mainstream.From the 17th century to the 19th century,under the opposition of the body and consciousness,the body was regarded as a material carrier opposite to the spirit,and the body was a tool of consciousness.After the 20th century,the opposition between the body and the soul has been broken,and the body has become more and more conspicuous as an academic issue.Body gained the status of the subject,which had a great significance to cognition.On the one hand,the body has gone through the process of being reprimanded to become the focus.The body is not only the driving force for changing the world,but also the condition for changing the world.On the other hand,the image of the body is no longer uniform and clear,but more ambiguous,diverse and diverse.The concept of body has completely subverted the characteristics of materiality,objectivity,and closedness that these traditional body concepts depend on in the contemporary era.The second part extracts and sums up the nature and characteristics of the post-humanism concept of human body in a theoretical and systematic way,and reflects on the relationship of the post-humanism body to literary creation and its form in the context of literary studies.In the relationship between body and mind,the post-human body emphasizes embodied experience and emphasizes the connection between body and cognition.In terms of physical performance,the post-human body eliminates the concrete image of human beings.In terms of body functions,the post-human body is a body reshaped by technology.On the boundary of the body,the post-human body is a body with open boundaries.In Cyborg body,we see the possibility of various boundaries being broken.The third part studies the context in which the concept of the post-humanism body is proposed and explores the issue of the post-human body and the subject with reference to the relationship of the post-human body to other forms of life.On the one hand,the post-humanist body construction is premised on the resolution of the dualism of mind and body;on the other hand,technological development provides innovative conditions for the post-humanist body construction.Despite its limitations,the post-humanist body concept breaks the myth of the human epoch,opposes the dualistic tradition of humanism,and prevents ontology from continuing to place human beings at the center of the world.The fourth part discusses the influence of post-humanism body concept on Literary Research.The opening of the literary cyberspace gave birth to new narrative models,blurred the identity of traditional narrators,and promoted the production of multi-dimensional interactive texts.Cyborgs satisfy the taboo desires and fantasies of mankind,and also reflect a commercial demand for the body as a consumer product in the consumer era.We have to be wary of the limitations of the post-humanist body concept:don’t materialize the body.Viewing the human body from the perspective of post-humanism is an comprehensive research,which provides new insights into the criticism of post-humanist literary works,and is conducive to inspire more possibilities for human body studies.we need to be rational and objective about the remodeling on the form and function of human body which may be brought about by technological development,and be positive enough to face the reality in present days.
