Gender,Revolution And Literature-Bai Wei’s Literary Creation From 1926 To 1949

This paper is based on Bai Wei’s literary creation from 1926 to 1949,with creative theme and the technique of her creation can be divided into three stages: The first stage was from 1922 to 1926.In this period,drama was the main style of creation.Influenced by western bourgeois literature and art,it expressed love philosophy,covering the themes of "love" and "beauty".The second stage was from the end of 1926 to 1937.Bai Wei was called by the domestic revolution and returned to China to participate in the revolutionary activities.During this period,her writing styles were diverse,involving drama,novels,poetry,literary theory,etc.,and her writing techniques began to transform from Romanticism to realism.The third stage was from the outbreak of the Anti Japanese war in 1937 to the founding of new China in 1949.During this period,the number of works was greatly reduced,and the main genre was poetry and prose.The work mainly takes the Japanese invasion of China as the creative background,and describes the physical and psychological trauma suffered by the Chinese people at the bottom,especially the women at the bottom,in the war.There are four chapters in this paper.The first chapter focuses on Bai Wei’s early literary creation which focuses on criticizing the feudal patriarchal family.This paper discusses Bai Wei’s deep awakening of "human" in the process of growing up in the patriarchal centered feudal family environment,influenced by her grandmother’s and father’s old-fashioned peasant revolution and bourgeois revolutionary ideas,through the narration of patriarchal spokesmen and the awakening of women’s spirit.The second chapter takes Bai Wei’s literary works as the research object after escaping from the shackles of the original family and having love disputes with Yang Sao.This chapter analyzes and explores Bai Wei’s self salvation in the face of love conflicts and difficulties through the love concept conveyed in Bai Wei’s works of this period.On this basis,it deconstructs the traditional love mode of "Earth Mother type" and explores how to solve this problem Her unique understanding and pursuit of emotion in this kind of love mode can restore Bai Wei’s true love state as far as possible.The third chapter mainly discusses how revolution,as a consistent spiritual power in Bai Wei’s life experience,influences her and how these influences are reflected in the text.Bai Wei constantly reflects on the significance of revolution to women in the text.She has absorbed the consciousness of resistance in the revolution.This power of resistance and reflection has become a constant spiritual power when she seeks liberation and a way out,supporting her to explore the real freedom.The fourth chapter mainly discusses Bai Wei’s disillusionment after the outbreak of the Anti Japanese war in 1937.In her works,Bai Wei also reveals the more difficult living situation of women than men in the context of Anti Japanese war.On the one hand,Bai Wei shows the revolutionary women’s spiritual journey to the modern road in her works.On the other hand,her confusion and helplessness about the revolution make her text content tend to be scattered and monotonous.Her creative attitude towards the mainstream discourse makes her works gradually lose the attention of readers and academia,and finally disappear in the era In this period,the writing style is mainly drama,and in the writing technique...in this period,the number of authors’ writing decreased greatly,mainly poetry and prose.There are four chapters in this paper.In the first chapter,Bai Wei annotated the beginning of her creation with a summary of the whole thesis.Abstract of master’s degree thesis of Shanghai Normal University.Bai Wei’s adherence to personalized writing is a continuation of the May 4th tradition,conveying women’s enthusiasm and anxiety in the modern process,restoring women’s inner world in the flood of the times,making her a unique contribution in the literary world.It is this kind of persistence that makes him unconsciously alienate from the narrative requirements of revolutionary literature in the process of creation,and the situation that individuals and revolutionary discourses mix and coexist often appears in the text.It can be said that this persistence eventually accelerated her disappearance in the literary world,but also provided a necessary reflection for the construction of literary history,which is the significance of studying Bai Wei and her works.
