Analysis Of Artistic Symbol Characteristics Of Father-son Sculpture

Susan Langer’s artistic symbol theory clearly defines the relationship between artistic form and emotion.This paper analyzes the artistic symbol characteristics of father-son sculptures by using her theory.Combining the frame and concept of art symbol theory and related concepts of sculpture art,this paper analyzes specific works.It quotes Susan Langer’s original concept,"quality",which refers to the great temperament characteristics of artistic symbols,such as grandeur,sadness and so on,and analyzes the relationship between sculpture form and emotion by combining the specific concepts of sculpture art,such as composition,architecture and stability.The article also analyzes the characteristics of sculpture art symbols from the specific factors that affect the characteristics of sculpture art symbols,such as politics,economy,culture,the author’s subjective feelings and so on.After that,the characteristics of sculpture art symbols are analyzed from sculpture works with various themes.The author designed an experiment to let the audience appreciate the sculpture and then express their feelings.Through this experiment,the relationship between sculpture form and emotion is analyzed from the angle of audience.Using the art symbol theory to analyze the works and guide the sculpture practice,the author talks about his graduation creation feeling and the expression of the artistic form of father-son sculpture and the emotional relationship between father and son in his works.The author from their own emotional classics.
