| English writing is one of the English basic skills and the evidence of students’ integrated language competence,and it plays a very large part in English learning.What deserves our attention is that it is also the difficulty of language learning.During the teaching period,the author found that under the background of the core competencies and the new curriculum reform,the traditional writing teaching method cannot meet the students’ learning needs,because students rely on imitating model essays and the teachers mainly modify the grammatical errors in the compositions with the traditional writing teaching.In view of this situation,the author put the scaffolding teaching way into writing teaching together,through applying scaffolding on emotion,vocabulary and as well as intelligent teaching method to change students’ attitudes towards English writing and develop their performance of writing.There are two research questions from the thesis: 1)What are the changes of students’ attitudes towards writing based on Scaffolding Teaching? 2)What are the effects of Scaffolding Teaching in writing teaching on students’ writing performance?The subjects of the experiment are all from Grade 1 of senior high school in Shenyang.One of the classes was experimental class,and the other one was control class.In the experimental class,the teacher adopted the scaffolding teaching method in writing teaching,and in the control class,the teacher adopted the traditional method in writing teaching.After experiment,the results of questionnaires,tests and interview were collected,and the data were analyzed with SPSS19.0.The conclusion for the experiment as: In the process of experiment,the experimental class has improved a lot on writing.On the one hand,students’ attitudes towards writing have changed,including their enthusiasm,interest and motivation for writing.On the other hand,students’ test scores have improved significantly,and their writing vocabulary,content,structure,logic and cohesion have improved.In addition,their writing habits have also improved.However,the control class has made little progress.As a result,scaffolding teaching plays an effective and positive role in writing. |
