The ability of self-control reflects the adaptability of individuals to social life to a certain extent. It is the basis for the formation and development of a healthy personality and a good personality, and is a necessary psychological condition for individuals to adapt to society. However, people are not always successful in self-control and often fail. The theory of self-control psychological resources proposed by American psychologist Baumeister explains this self-control failure phenomenon as individual ego-depletion.This theory has been verified by a large number of studies.Researchers have gradually shifted their focus to the alleviation of ego-depletion.The study found that an individual’s psychological resources can be restored through a variety of ways, such as rest, motivational participation and glucose supplementation. In recent years, unconscious goal priming is considered to be a new method that is simple to implement and has sustainable effects. Therefore, its research from the perspective of self-control motivation has attracted much attention.Cooperative behavior is an important topic in the study of children’s socialization, and it plays an important role in children’s physical and mental development and personality improvement. As a complex social behavior,it is affected by many aspects, among which self-control is one of the important factors. Therefore, this research starts from the theory of self-control psychological resources and adopts the dual-task experimental paradigm to investigate the influence of unconscious goal priming on children’s cooperative behavior under ego-depletion.Two experiments are designed with students in grades 4 to 6.Experiment 1 explored the influence of ego-depletion on cooperative behavior, using a singlefactor inter-subject experimental design. The subjects were 58 students in grades 4 to 6 of a central elementary school. The independent variable was ego-depletion and the dependent variable was the level of cooperative behavior.Participants were divided into experimental group and control group. The "Stroop task" is used for ego-depletion manipulation, and the investment amount of the subjects in the "public goods dilemma task" is used as a measure of the level of cooperative behavior. The results showed that the amount invested by the experimental group in the "public goods dilemma" was significantly lower than the control group. The results show that in the state of ego-depletion,the level of individual cooperative behavior decreases. On the basis of Experiment 1,Experiment 2 investigated whether unconscious goal priming under ego-depletion can alleviate the after-effect of ego-depletion,increase the participants’ cooperative behavior and whether the effect of unconscious goal priming is regulated by the level of individual cooperation tendency. The research object is 122 students from grade 4 to grade 6 in a central elementary school, using a two-factor design of 2 unconscious priming(target priming vs.neutral priming)× 2 cooperative tendency level(high vs.low).The independent variable is the level of unconscious priming and cooperative tendency, and the dependent variable is the level of cooperative behavior. The “Stroop task” is used for ego-depletion manipulation, the “dilemma task”is used to group the level of cooperation tendency, and the “sentence ordering task” is used for unconscious goal priming. The investment amount of the subjects in the “public goods dilemma task”is used as the cooperative behavior level Metric. The results show that there is a significant difference between the amount of investment in the group with a high level of cooperation propensity to start unconscious goal and the group with a high level of unconscious neutral intent to start cooperation. The difference in the amount of investment is not significant. The amount of investment in the group with a high level of unconscious goal start cooperation propensity and the group with a low level of unconscious goal start cooperation propensity have significant differences, and the group with high unconscious neutral start cooperation propensity has a low level of cooperation with the unconscious neutral start group. The difference in the amount of group investment is not significant. The results show that unconscious goal priming in the state of ego-depletion can alleviate the aftereffect of egodepletion and increase cooperative behavior. The effect of unconscious goal priming is affected by the child’s own level of cooperation tendency. For children with high levels of cooperation tendency, unconscious goal priming can increase it.For children with a low level of cooperative propensity, unconscious goal priming has no obvious influence on their cooperative behavior.
