| The non-standard use of technologies has impacted the essential attributes of human species.The blind pursuit of rights in society has made human beings facing the spiritual dilemma of virtue collapse.The separation of virtue and rights has challenged the status of human dignity.The fundamental problem in the above difficulties is the weak foundation of the theory of human dignity,and the urgency of the problem of dignity stimulates rethinking Kant’s dignity theory.The discussion of humanity and personality ensures the essential attributes of human beings,and the respect for humanity in person promotes humanity itself to the height of dignity with personality,which is the basis for human beings to own dignity.The ability of self-legislation and self-compliance demonstrated by will autonomy makes people show the power of virtue,which makes the status of human dignity constantly improve.Kant’s dignity theory is of great significance to guide realistic problems,because it emphasizes awakening people’s self-consciousness,from virtue dignity to right dignity,and provides a feasible path for realistic predicament.On the premise of the dilemma of human dignity,this paper tries to sort out the reasons for the challenge of dignity status and the solutions.The urgent need to revisit dignity promotes the research of dignity theory.The first thing is to clarify the meaning of understanding Kant’s dignity theory.Based on the precedence theory of moral law and starts a dialogue with the absolute value theory represented by Korsgaard,transforms the hypothetical relationship between dignity and value,and points out that in Kant’s ethics,moral law and Categorical Imperative are the highest concepts,while dignity and other concepts are second.It is not because others are valuable that we should respect others,but because Categorical Imperative ordered to respect others,they can have dignity.Kant’s dignity theory is the integration of tradition and modern.The second chapter combs the origin of Kant’s dignity theory,focusing on the influence of humanism in Renaissance and Rousseau’s concept on Kant’s dignity.Under the influence of Rousseau,Kant began to attach importance to the latent nature of human beings.Since then,Kant often used the word dignity in his works,which linked the concept of dignity with moral law,and formed Kant’s dignity theory from the metaphysical level.The discussion of Kant’s dignity theory can’t be separated from moral law and Categorical Imperative.Focusing on the moral law in Kant’s ethics,this paper interprets the appearance,demand and basis of dignity from three formulas.After confirming the universality and inevitability of Categorical Imperative,this paper puts forward the requirement of dignity around the Formula of Humanity,and points out that human nature in person should be investigated in the category of personality.In this concept,human beings are not only limited rational beings,but also have the ability to rationally set moral ends,which promotes human nature to a position of dignity,and respecting others is the obligation that must be fulfilled in the Categorical Imperative.The Formula of Autonomy confirms the legislative ability of reason itself,and elaboration of concepts such as freedom and autonomy to establishes that the will of autonomy is the basis of human dignity.Kant’s dignity theory is of great contemporary significance.The philosophers in German have further explored Kant’s dignity theory and put forward many feasible ways to solve the dilemma of dignity.In order to respond to the dilemma of human dignity,it is necessary to establish a moral concept of rights and dignity.Adhering to autonomy of will and actively fulfilling one’s obligations are the prerequisites for calling for rights and dignity.We should face and solve the problem of real dignity from the perspective of the responsible person,reflect and improve our own virtue,and achieve the balance between virtue and rights. |
