Research Of The Women On Participating Martial Arts In The Republic Of China

Women participating in martial arts is one of the characteristics of martial arts development in the period of the Republic of China.It originated in the early Republic of China,flourished in the middle of the Republic of China,and continued after the founding of new China.It is also a very important event in the development of Chinese martial arts.In the context of history,"women are the ones who inferior to others".They are imprisoned in the feudal old culture and attached to the male group.During the period of the Republic of China,women appeared in the martial arts field,which formed a social phenomenon unseen before.In view of this,it is very necessary to explore and clarify the phenomenon of women participating in martial arts in the period of the Republic of China.In view of this,it is very necessary to explore and clarify the phenomenon of female martial arts in the period of the Republic of China,which will also help to enrich the female perspective of the historical study of martial arts in the Republic of China and promote the development of female martial arts in today’s society.This paper uses literature research method,historical analysis method,field research method,case study method,retroactive method and image analysis method to interpret the formation motivation,manifestation,development characteristics and social influence of women participating in martial arts in the Republic of China,and obtains the enlightenment of today.Based on the perspective of individual,society and nation,this paper analyzes it in depth by means of micro-macro combination,interpenetration of point,line and surface.The study shows that the formation of women’s martial arts has many factors,which is the result of the joint efforts of many parties.It can be summarized as follows: the feudal thought that bound women gradually disintegrated and women were liberated to a certain extent;the voice of social elites on women aroused the participation of women’s movement;The development of school Wushu education provides conditions for school women to practice martial arts.According to the existing literature,this paper summarizes and refines the its manifestation,which can be summarized as follows: there are martial arts context in school physical curriculum,there are some women members in official and folk martial arts organizations,there are some models in martial arts families,there are records in literatures of the military martial arts,etc.The special environment,different political power and diverse demands created different development characteristics in the process of women’s martial arts practice in the period of the Republic of China.This paper summarizes the following five points: girls in normal schools and specialized physical education schools learn the courses of "paying equal attention to art and learning,and studying local and foreign skills";there are many women’s martial arts organizations with "diverse forms and coexistence of officials and folks" in society;Women pay attention to learning martial arts skills of "practical oriented,entertainment supplemented" in revolutionary base areas;The sports meet gradually presents the women’s martial arts competition which is characterized by "diversified competition and tradition";Women have the characteristics of "seeking power with strong body and serving the country with martial arts" in the trend of martial arts.During the period of the Republic of China,women participating in martial arts had a lot of beneficial social effects,which were specifically expressed in the following four points: the large-scale development of Wushu activities expanded the group of women practicing in martial arts;women actively popularize martial arts to enhance wushu dissemination on abroad;women participating martial arts competition promote the formation of women’s sports concept;women devote themselves to revolutionary and defending war and resulting in spreading of the military martial arts.Drawing lessons from the experience of historical development is one of the important contents of historical research.This paper combines the development experience of women’s martial arts practice with the reality,and makes a reasonable prospect for the future development,and draws the following four enlightenments.First,according to women’s interest in martial arts and physiological differences,build a "Humanistic" school martial arts curriculum.Second,the social Wushu training institutions should keep pace with the times and pay attention to expound the spirit of women’s martial arts.Third,we should learn from the competition experience of the Republic of China and explore the women’s Wushu competition which combines "dance" and "strike".Fourth,women should stick to cultural self-confidence and promote the international communication of martial arts.
