This study centers its research on the introduction of Mandarin Chinese abroad by means of promoting the martial arts. Martial arts have long been a part of Chinese traditional culture, in addition to being a significant asset of China, and using it as a carrier to introduce Mandarin has proven to be practical and efficient. However, most of the studies in this field are mainly focused on promoting martial arts itself without putting it into the context of language learning. Research on the topic of promoting martial arts under the background of Chinese language globalization is relatively primitive and it is lacking sufficent research with regards to theory.The researcher adopted a variety of research methods, analyzed existing reference documentations and thoroughly compared and evaluated the above assertion. Also by conducting interviews with important personnel connected to the programs of the Shaolin Wushu Base for Chinese Language Globalization, she was able to obtain direct feedback and valuable information. The researcher used her knowledge of related academic works and research of the Shaolin Wushu Base for Chinese Language Globalization as examples to summarize and clearly reflect each program.The essay contains six chapters. The first chapter introduces the selected topic’s background, basis of the theory, research design, and research methods, significance of the research, research innovation, and definition of key concepts. The second chapter focuses on literature review. The third chapter analyses the activity based program of promoting martial arts under the background of the Shaolin Wushu Base for Chinese Language Globalization.The fourth chapter analyzes the performance based program of promoting martial arts under the background of Shaolin Wushu Base for Chinese Language Globalization. The fifth chapter concentrates on the training program for teachers. The sixth chapter analyzes textbook resources relating to the topic.In summation, this essay explores in depth the relatively new research field of promoting martial arts under the background of Chinese language globalization and develops new courses of action for its future growth. Hopefully, this dissertation helps provide reference and enlightenment for the research of promoting martial arts under the background of Chinese language globalization.
