A Research On The Application Of Flipped Classroom Teaching Model On English Grammar Teaching In Rural Junior High School

Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development of information technology,people have already lived in the Internet era.The Internet has affected all aspects of people’s life,and traditional teaching model has gradually started to change.After Salman Khan gave a speech at the TED conference in 2011,flipped classroom teaching model has been widely used in teaching by teachers of different subjects,especially by science teachers.As a language subject,English plays an important role in the fundamental education,and it has a considerable proportion in junior high school curriculum.The importance of grammar is beyond doubt in learning English,and it is one of the indispensable and irreplaceable contents in teaching activities.Through the pretest questionnaire,this research found that junior high school students generally think English grammar is a big obstacle and difficulty in English learning.Based on the constructivism theory,the mastery learning theory and the cooperative learning theory,this research is going to explore the following two questions:(1)What influence does flipped classroom teaching model have on students’ English grammar grades in rural junior high school?(2)What influence does flipped classroom teaching model have on students’ grammar learning attitude in rural junior high school?In this study,the author chose literature research method and experimental research method to conduct a three months’ research on two parallel classes(class 3 is the experimental class,class 4 is the control class)in grade 8 of Lindong Junior High School in Jinhua Town in Guiyang.In the experimental class,flipped classroom teaching model was adopted,while in the control class,traditional teaching model was adopted,so as to observe the effect of the two teaching models.After the experiment,the author did comparative advantage on the all the data.According to the results of the experiment,the author has the following findings.In English grammar teaching of rural junior high school,flipped classroom teaching model has bigger positive influence on most rural school students’ grammar grades than traditional teaching model.It is effective on improving students’ ability of making up sentences and it is also effective on teaching easy grammar points.What’s more,it helps the students in low score group most.At the same time,in English grammar teaching of rural junior high school,flipped classroom teaching model has more positive effects on most students’ learning attitude,learning habits and autonomous learning ability than traditional teaching model.With the development of network technology and parents’ attention to children’s education,the information technology will be more and more used in English grammar teaching and even other aspects of teaching.It will be more convenient for teachers to use flipped classroom teaching model in daily teaching.
