English grammar is a systematic rule of English learning and it could influence the structure of a sentence.In English learning,how to make sentences and how to use appropriate words and phrases in the right places all depend on students' mastery of English grammar.English grammar learning is one of the foundations of English learning and is an important part of English learning framework.students begin to learn English in the junior high school,so the result is that this period plays a key role in cultivating students' ability to learn English.There are more rules and requirements for junior high school English teaching with the new standard curriculum reform put forward.However,students in junior high school still remain on the basic level on which they only focus on the exam questions in the current stage.At the same time,some other problems such as “dumb English”,students' negative learning attitude,and lack of autonomy still exist in grammar learning process.For junior high school English teachers,how to improve students' interest in grammar and how to cultivate students' ability to learn independently have already been an urgent problem to be solved.With the rapid development of science,technology,globalization of information and various online courses on the network,English teaching has also created many platforms and ways.With the appearance and prosperity of the online courses,the flipped classroom-a new kind of teaching model,which introduces how to flip the classroom and organize the classroom activities has gradually attracted people's attention.The teachers should record the video about the grammar teaching content in advance and give the teaching materials such as learning plan,the courseware,and the videos to students.This teaching model could economize the teaching resources and improve students' learning efficiency;what's more,students can watch the parts they do not understand repeatedly to improve the effectiveness of video learning.This teaching model is flexible and fully reflects the concept of “students are the main body of the class”.Teachers play a part of an assistant in the teaching process andteach students to learn by themselves,improve their autonomy and enthusiasm,so as to develop a good habit of self-learning.In the flipped classroom,their integrative competence of listening,speaking,reading and writing will be focused on instead of the traditional class model which only pays attention to the writing test.This thesis involves the following two questions: 1.What teaching steps of the flipped classroom are more likely to stimulate students' interest in junior high school English grammar teaching? 2.What impacts do the flipped classroom have on the grammar grades of the junior high school students ?Based on the basic guidelines of the flipped classrooms,this study conducts onesemester teaching experiment in The 17 th Junior High School of Liangjiazi in Jilin City,Jilin Province.This thesis is divided into three parts.The teacher chooses two classes with similar English grammar grades,and they are divided into the experimental class and the control class.The teacher adopts the model of the flipped classroom to teach English grammar in the experimental class,and adopts traditional teaching methods to teach English grammar in the control class.In the flipped classroom teaching process,the teacher gives teaching materials such as teaching video,learning plan,and courseware to students before class.Then,the teacher adopts activities such as making conversation,group discussion,dubbing and some other communicative teaching activities to organize the class.3.The teacher uses the pretest,post test,questionnaires and class observation to collect data to analyze the learning attitude of students and the effects of the flipped classroom on the English grammar teaching.This study intends to adopt the method of questionnaire survey,teaching experiment and grammar test to collect data.First of all,students from the two classes who have similar grammar grades in the pretest have been picked up as the experimental class and the control class.The teacher in the experimental class uses the flipped classroom to teach students grammar,and the teacher in the control class adopts the traditional classroom to teach grammar.During the teaching process,students' performances in different teaching activities should be compared and observed,so as to find the difficulties they meet.After the experiment,students in the experimental class should answer the questionnaire about the flipped classroom,and all students both in the experimental class and the control class take part in the English grammar test.Finally,the data are collected and analyzed through SPSS software and the independent sample T-test to test the effectiveness and the effects of the flipped classroom.The result of this study shows that students in the experimental classroom are more interested in the flipped classroom activities such as dubbing,sitcoms and making dialogues in classrooms,and these activities can increase their enthusiasm for English grammar learning.As for the overall performance,the grades gotten by students involved in flipped classroom have been obviously improved,especially for students whose performance was originally at a middle level.
