Research On The Incident Of Postage Increase In 1932

The postage increase incident in 1932 was an incident in which the General Post Office of the Ministry of Communications issued a relevant increase order after the Executive Yuan’s deliberation and approval.It was opposed by many parties,and then was partially adjusted under the inquiry of the Legislative Yuan to finally achieve the increase goal.The explanation of the postage increase by the General Post Office is due to the postal post’s continuous losses since the 19 th year of the Republic of China（1930）.It has carried out a full range of postage adjustments in order to make up for the losses and develop the postal business.This order of fare increase caused an uproar in the society,and subsequently aroused opposition from all walks of life.The focus of the dispute also extended from many points of view of Chen Fumu,deputy secretary of the Ministry of Communications,to the issue of the legality of the procedural legality of the order for postage increase.Finally,under the supervision of the Legislative Yuan’s interrogation case,the postal authority realized a partial reduction or exemption of postage increase,and then the opposition from all walks of life was eliminated.However,the postal trade union launched a "post wave" because of its long-term failure to achieve its own demands.
