Notional Words Research On Xuanquan Bamboo Slips Of Han Dynasty

The Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty are rich in content and well-preserved.They are not only of great significance for the study of politics,economy,and culture in the Han Dynasty,but also provide valuable materials for the study on the language of the northwestern region.This article is based on Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty published by Zhongxi Book Company in 2019,and uses its newly published materials from bamboo slips of Han Dynasty to conduct a systematic study of its vocabulary.Since there are more researches on function words and less on content words in bamboo slips of Han Dynasty,this article chooses the content words in Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty for research.This article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is to describe and investigate the semantic category of notional words in Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty.And it can be divided into noun,verb,adjective and quantifier.In addition,the first three types are divided into monosyllabic words and polysyllabic words.Through the classification of the meanings of the above four kinds of content words,this paper describes the basic features of content words in Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty.The second chapter is to study the polysyllabic words in Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty,using qualitative and quantitative methods to determine the number of polysyllabic words,and summarize the word formation methods of polysyllabic words.And by comparing with the word formation and vocabulary number of the disyllabic words in the literature of different periods to analysis the characteristics of the disyllabic words.The last is the study of new words and new meanings in the vocabulary in Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty.Taking the A Grand Dictionary of Chinese Characters as the main standard,and also referring to some previous documents,confirming the new words and new meanings found in Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty,and summarizing examples that can be supplemented and corrected in the A Grand Dictionary of Chinese Characters.By summarizing and combing the content word system of Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty,it can be concluded that the actual words have the following characteristics:1.The content words are mainly monosyllabic words,but the proportion of polysyllabic words increases,and the tendency of polysyllabicization is obviously stronger than that of the pre-Qin.2.From the perspective of part of speech,the vocabulary of Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty is dominated by nouns,followed by verbs and adjectives,and nouns cover legal documents,food,clothing,and weapons and equipment.3.In terms of word formation,the vocabulary of Xuanquan bamboo slips of Han Dynasty has various ways of word formation,and it is very stable.Among them,modifying disyllabic words accounted for 69% of the total number of polysyllabic words,which was significantly higher than that in the literature of the same period.
