| Under the context of “Chinese Classics going out”,China’s network literature has emerged as a new force.It has won a large number of overseas audience.This paper adopts reception aesthetics as the theoretical framework,and takes Wuxiaworld,the world’s largest Chinese online translation website,as a case study.It explores the manifestations of its translators and analyzes how they exert their subjectivity on the translation process.The thesis has chosen two xianxia novels(written by Er Gen,a famous online writer)to compare their English version and Chinese version.It discusses the translation strategy and the possible influential factors under the framework of “The active role of readers”,“horizon of expectation”,and “indeterminacy”.The results show that both translators tend to adopt free translation to cater to the target reader’s horizon of expectation,and they have made a lot of deletions and sentence structural adjustments to make the translations more logical. |
