"Yue Jj"(乐记)is the earliest existing systematic Confucian music theory work.It is the representative of "music"(乐)in the"six arts"(六艺),and has the lofty status of "jing"(经).Previous scholars’ research on "Yue Ji" focused more on aesthetics, and paid less attention to the problems of classics and XiaoXue(The study of characters, phonology and exegesis in ancient China)in"Yue Ji".Zheng Xuan’s "Yueji Annotation" is the most complete work in existence to study and annotate "Yueji".It has a pivotal position in the study of "Yueji" and can be used as a hub for the study of "Yueji" issues. After sorting out the literature about "Yue Ji"in the past dynasties, this article focuses on Zheng Xuan’s "Yue Ji Annotation".Among them,in the main text, the first chapter does some necessary research and presentation on Zheng Xuan’s previous "Yue Ji" issues, while the second, third, and fourth chapters respectively deal with the collation and annotation issues in Zheng Xuan’s "Yue Ji Annotation".In addition,I have put in the appendix some sorting out of the basic documents of "Yue Ji" and some theoretical research that I have carried out.I intend to make a more comprehensive observation of Zheng Xuan’s "Yue Ji Annotation".
