| The translation task of this report is the fourth chapter of Postmodernism and Ethical Literary Criticism, which compares American postmodernist literature since the 1970 s with Chinese postmodernist literature set from the early 1980 s,and has certain referential value for the study of comparative literature of China and America. The fourth chapter takes the postmodern theme in Yu Hua’s Brothers as the main topic and divides the transition of China from the socialist planned economy to market economy into three stages. The style of the text is academically rigorous, which fully reflects the professional nature of academic literary works. This translation practice is completed under the guidance of Reductionist of Approach to Translatology, and flexibly handles the key points and difficulties in the translation process according to the linguistic and stylistic features of academic texts and the purpose of the target text.Based on the translation practice, this report adopts the case study method to discuss the translation strategies and methods adopted in the translation process from three aspects, namely vocabulary, syntax and discourse, with the help of specific cases in translation practice. At lexical level, the features of the original text are conveyed accurately to satisfy the principle of convergence to the original text.At syntactic level, the meaning contained in the form of the original text is fully embodied, and the logic is thus reorganized to conform to the writing habits of the target language. At discourse level,it is necessary to focus on the coherence and acceptability of the text to fully achieve the communicative effect.Through the translation practice, this paper discusses the feasibility of the Reductionist of Approach to Translatology in guiding the translation of academic literary works,in the hope of providing some reference for the translation practice and translation studies of academic literary works. |
