| In recent years,In 2020,the Ministry of Education issued the new curriculum standard for senior high school English,and then added a revised version.Even though the change of curriculum standards and teaching textbooks have been updated,the key training goals and requirements on the English writing teaching has never altered.The purpose of this study is to investigate Senior high school students’ perceptual learning style tendency and the use of English Writing Criteria of College Entrance Examination,and analyze the relationship between perceptual learning styles and students’ English writing ability combined with their English writing performance.This study is trying to explore whether perceptual learning style tendency will affect students’ writing ability,and finally draw conclusions and put forward suggestions for middle school reading teaching,which also can assist teachers in the senior high schools to seek more methods and ways to enhance students’ English writing ability.Teachers can take appropriate and effective teaching methods according to students’ different learning styles,make students know more about their own learning style tendency and common writing curriculum standards and cultivate students to have a variety of learning styles and be able to promote their writing ability.The three research questions are:(1)What is the current situation of senior high school students’ perceptual learning styles?(2)Is there any correlations between perceptual learning styles and the ability of reaching the writing curriculum for senior high school English? If so,what is the connection?(3)Is there any correlations between perceptual learning styles and Writing performance? If so,what is the connection?The research objects of this paper are 174 students from Grade ten of the Zheng Xiong Chang Feng Middle School in Yunnan Province.This study adopts the questionnaire survey method,testing method and data analysis method.The questionnaire as follows:(1)A perceptual learning style questionnaire based on Reid(1984)perceptual learning style theory,respectively investigates students’ four perceptual learning styles,namely visual,auditory,tactile and kin-esthetic learning styles.(2)A writing test based on the English Writing Criteria of College Entrance Examination.This paper attempts to discuss correlations between perceptual learning styles and writing ability,and puts forward some suggestions.The results show that: 1.at present,senior high school students possess four perceptual learning styles,but varies differently and enormously.There are 42% students belonging to auditory perceptual learning style students,ranking first.Secondly,kin-esthetic perceptual learning style students,24%.Then,tactile perceptual learning style students,21.3%.the lowest one is visual perceptual learning style students,12.7%.2.Auditory perceptual learning style students research the writing curriculum standards for senior high school English better than other students.3.Auditory perceptual learning style students’ English writing grades are higher than other students.Tactile perceptual learning style students posses lowest grades in middle school English teaching.In addition,the author also give some suggestions to improve the effective application of group cooperative learning in junior high school English teaching from the aspects of school,teacher and student under the background of new curriculum reform. |
