With the development of English classroom teaching reform and the deepening of the concept of "whole-person education",teachers are paying more and more attention to students’ "learning" rather than teachers’ "teaching".However,when it comes to specific classroom teaching,the traditional teaching mode,that is,"teachers speak,students listen",is still the main teaching method in primary school English classroom.In most primary school English classes,teachers still mainly teach new words and explain the text,ignoring the cultivation of students’ comprehensive language application ability.The author mainly uses literature research and questionnaire survey research.Through the literature research,the author has a better understanding the development of Educational Drama at home and abroad,the concept of Educational Drama and the theoretical basis of Educational Drama.According to literature research,we can know that the use of Educational Drama can improve students’ language ability,thinkingquality,cultural awareness and learning ability,and improve students’ comprehensive language application ability.However,is it still effective in practice?Can teachers make good use of Educational Drama? Can it be integrated with daily English teaching? All this questions are under questioning.Therefore,this study mainly focuses on the following two points:1.What is the current situation of the application of Educational Drama in primary school English teaching?2.How to integrate Educational Drama with daily English teaching in primary schools?To have a general idea of the application of Educational Drama in primary school English teaching of Jingyang District,the author conducts a questionnaire survey among primary school English teachers and interviewed some students and teachers.According to the results of the survey and interview,we can see that teachers generally agree that Educational Drama is good for students.But they haven’t fully applied Educational Drama in their English teaching.And the application of Educational Drama in English teaching is relatively rough.In addition,there is a certain deviation between teachers’ teaching desire and students’ learning desire.Teachers tend to directly use situational dialogues or stories in the text to perform drama,while students prefer to perform classical stories.On the whole,the application of Educational Drama in English teaching in primary schools of Jingyang District is still in its infancy.In order to find a way to integrate Educational Drama with primary school’s English teaching,the author did many research and put forward some practical ideas according to research and practice from the following aspects: the materials of Educational Drama,common teaching methods and common teaching steps.The author believes that the integration of Educational Drama and daily English teaching in primary schools should be based on textbooks,mainly in class,supplemented by extracurricular,and complement each other.In class,the teacher should use the way of drama performance to input and output the text.So that students can naturally acquire language and learn the use of language through drama performance.After class,the teacher should make good use of after-school delay service,school English cultural festival and English performance competition.The teacher can choose some interesting stories to make students feel the charm of English in drama performance.Through this way,we can cultivate students’ cultural awareness and improve students’ interest in English learning.
