| With the development of automobile industry,the economic and trade exchanges are becoming more and more frequent and the “circle of friends” in each industry is becoming wider and wider.Along with the increasing proportion of the automobile industry,the translation of automobile texts as a carrier has been increasingly valued and has become a bridge for trade exchanges.This translation report is a summary made by the author after translating the X Automobile Brand Manual during the internship.In this report,Reiss’ s text type theory is to provide clear guidance for the author to find out the difficulties in translation material and provides solutions.Starting from the three levels of lexical,syntactic and discourse,the author selects targeted examples for analysis and applies the translation techniques like conversion,annotation,inversion,the change of the voices,cohesion and coherence into the translation process.It aims to improve the translation quality,convey the original meaning and meet the target readers’ reading habits.This report is divided into five chapters.The first one is the task description,which mainly introduces the background,requirements,significances of the task and the report’s structure.The second one is the translation process,which involves three stages:pre-translation,while-translation and after-translation.The third one is the theoretical basis,which mainly describes the guiding requirements of Reiss’ s text type theory for this report,aiming at ensuring the professionalism of the translation.The fourth one is case study,which is also the focus of this practical report.By combining the examples in the translation task,conversion and annotation are used at the lexical level to ensure the integrity;inversion and the change of the voices are used at the syntactic level to ensure the logic of the translation;cohesion and coherence are used at the discourse level to ensure the smoothness of the translation.The last one is the conclusion.By writing this report,the author summarizes the problems encountered in the translation process,hoping to provide reference and guidance for the same type of translation practice in the future. |
