Research On Kazuo Ishiguro’s View Of Literary Creation

Japanese born British writer Kazuo Ishiguro is unique in the world literary world with his unique national writing style,international writing concept,innovative writing techniques and elegant and restrained language style.He drew nourishment from western traditional realism and post modernist literature,integrated double cultural understanding into his creative activities,and constructed a personalized literary thought.At the same time,he constantly explained and updated his literary ideas in his creative practice.Since 1982,he has written a number of short stories,seven novels and a collection of short stories.Although they are not prolific,they can attract scholars’ attention and comments.Especially after he won the Nobel Prize for literature,the academic circles set off an upsurge of studying Ishiguro.In Kazuo Ishiguro’s creative practice,we can see his persistent pursuit of the unltimate significance and value of literature.This paper chooses Kazuo Ishiguro’s literary and artistic creation view as the research object,because the current academic research on Kazuo Ishiguro mainly focuses on the interpretation of the ideological meaning of his novels,as well as the artistic characteritics of the text,while ignoring its theoretical research.Based on Kazuo Ishiguro’s novels,speeches,interviews and other works,this paper makes a systematic and comprehensive analysis of his literary views.This paper mainly studies Kazuo Ishiguro’s view of literary creation from four aspects.The first chapter,starting with his unique living experience and complex background of the times,this paper analyzes the forming factors of Kazuo Ishiguro’s literary creation view.The second chapter specifically analyzes Kazuo Ishiguro’s creative ideas under the dual background,that is,the ethnic creative idea when he first appeared in the literary world,the international creative idea he advocated and insisted on.The third chapter mainly studies Kazuo Ishiguro’s other responsibility and its theme.The fourth chapter focuses on the analysis of the specific embodiment of Kazuo Ishiguro’s literary view in his works,and combs the style characteristics of Kazuo Ishiguro’s works in narrative structure and language.The epilogue sus up this paper and affirms his attempts and efforts as an immigrant writer with dual backgrounds in contemporary multicultural creation.
