The Research On The West Chamber Xiaoqu In Ming And Qing Dynasties

During the Ming and Qing dynasties,there were many Xiaoqu based on the stories of the West Chamber.Many Xiaoqu are based on the operas of the West Chamber,and they sing the stories of the West Chamber in the form of Xiaoqu.The appearance of the West Chamber Xiaoqu has enriched the propagation mode of the West Chamber and opened up a new path for the study of the West Chamber.This article is divided into four chapters in the research of the West Chamber Xiaoqu in the Ming and Qing Dynasties:The first chapter is the introduction,which is mainly to sort out the research of the predecessors on the West Chamber Xiaoqu,think about the significance,and formulate the research methods.The second chapter introduces the general situation of the West Chamber Xiaoqu in Ming and Qing Dynasty.Judging from the content of the West Chamber Xiaoqu,some are directly sing the West Chamber original words,and more adapted based on the story of the West Chamber.Judging from the form of the West Chamber Xiaoqu,there are several Xiaoqu together to sing the complete story,and there is also a piece of Xiaoqu to sing a story from the Western Chamber.The third chapter studies the comparison between the West Chamber Xiaoqu and Wang Shifu’s Zaju.The West Chamber Xiaoqu is not only influenced by Zaju,but also has its own unique color.In order to cater to the aesthetic taste and subjective wishes of the folks,the Xiaoqu artists adapted the plot,character images and language of the West Chamber.Compared with opera,the plot of the West Chamber Xiaoqu is simple and straightforward;the characters are bold and vulgar and informal;the language is simple and vulgar,and without engraving.The fourth chapter is an analysis of the reasons for the popularity of the West Chamber Xiaoqu in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.First,the story of the West Chamber spread far and wide among the people during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and was widely loved.The characters and stories of the West Chamber appear in wine orders and daily decorations heavily.Secondly,the performance of the West Chamber Xiaoqu and opera are on the same stage,influences each other.Singing the West Chamber is very frequent,and the West Chamber Xiaoqu is also very popular.The two fuse and communicate with each other.Some local dramas of the West Chamber,such as errenzhuan "Da Xixiang",are formed as a result of the fusion of Zaju and Xiaoqu.
