| L2 writing is a necessary output method for English proficiency of high school students,and it is also an essential item in the college entrance examination.However,the researcher found that the writing ability of the students in my class was fragile,so the researcher searched references,and tried to adopt peer-review strategy into classes to see whether it can facilitate students’ L2 writing ability in exams.The total number of students is 97.The researcher chose class 24 as the control class(CC)and class 23 as the experimental class(EC).In the EC,the researcher uses peer review,and in the CC the researcher uses the teacher review.The methods of data collection include questionnaires,interviews and tests.The experiment lasts for three months.By comparing the writing scores,analyzing data from questionnaires and interviews,the author aims to study the effect of applying peer review to L2 writing in her own class.The researcher uses questionnaires to find out changes of students’ writing situation as well as the advantages and disadvantages of peer review.The questionnaire in the post-test shows that students’ writing situation has not only changed,but also students’ attitude towards writing has begun to develop in a positive direction.The writing scores indicate that the students in the EC make the most exceptional progress;a pair of T-test results also show that there is a vast difference between the pre-test and the post-test.Compared with pre-test,the progress made by students in the CC is not so apparent;a pair of T-test results also show that there is a small difference between the pre-test and the post-tests in the CC.The researcher compared the students’ ability of writing corrections before and after the experiment,including the singular and plural nouns modified between pre-test and post-test,word spelling,grammar,subject and predicate are consistent,and collocation mistakes.The results show that students of the EC have increased their ability to correct errors in the post-test.This research aims to solve the problems of L2 writing teaching.After the experiment,the author concludes if peer review is well prepared and well organized,it has a positive effect on the improvement of students’ L2 writing.To some extent,peer review could be applied in similar teaching environment.However,the experiment is only conducted in a very limited background,therefore it also has some limitations. |
