A Brief Analysis Of The Influence Of Geometric Aesthetics On Contemporary Watercolor Creation

As the name implies,watercolor is a unique art category bred by water as a medium.When talking about watercolor,people’s inherent impressions are mostly the way of splashing and writing ink,as well as conventional color pattern of shallow,thin and clear color.In fact,after Western painting being introducing into China,in addition to the painting species of materials used,media,painting methods,and painting systems,along with the advancement of the times,the ideas and concepts are constantly colliding,contacting and blending with the local concept of cultural traditions in China.In this process,the artistic form of watercolor painting has been changing,extending and developing,thus giving birth to new directions and possibilities,breeding new forms of painting language.A new generation of painters are beginning to try to put geometric elements in their paintings in order to enrich diversified expressions,which makes the painting form and aesthetic interest with geometric form language as the prominent feature in paintings gradually emerge.This article is divided into five chapters,combined with the author’s learning and practical experience in the postgraduate career,to examine the abbreviations,characteristics and differences between the aesthetics of geometric form and the traditional painting style in the watercolor painting.The first chapter introduces the research background,method,purpose,etc.of the selected topic;the second chapter analysis the language of geometric form and gives examples;the third chapter is a brief introduction to the works of watercolor painting that take the aesthetic of geometric form as the point of interest analysis;the fourth chapter combines self-creation as the starting point to explore the significance of this form of aesthetics for the creation of watercolor paintings;the chapter five summarizes the specific conditions of the theory in practice,and explores the significance of this form of aesthetics for the development and promotion on the expression of watercolor painting.By studying the use of geometric aesthetics in watercolor painting,it is found that many contemporary artists focus on embodying self-concept as the center of artistic value,rather than serving a specific object.This is more conducive to study and create stylization and originality of paintings.At present,the painting style of geometric form language is only a beginning in watercolor art.It represents the character in the pursuit of art from young people of a new generation that encourages to practice and pioneer.This is a breath of striving for progress,which injects huge energy and creates more possibilities for the diversified development of watercolor painting.
