Nowadays,we live in an artificial environment surrounded by objects, with amazing consumption and phenomenon of abundance made from objects as its main feature. This study is to analyze the consumption structure constructed by BJD dolls, doll circles and doll clubs with the help of the research perspectives and methods used on Guy Debord’s landscape society and Jean Baudrillard’s theory of consumer society, taking the BJD(spherical joint movable doll)niche culture as an entry point, and to dismantle the landscape illusion created by consumer culture so as to reach the result of figuring out why wasteful consumption that accelerates renewal has become a fashion in today’s society.BJD dolls, which are the sublimation of abundance phenomena, entered the Chinese market around 2005,and the local doll circle culture had also developed rapidly in the following ten years and had been in line with the world. After I came into contact with BJD dolls in 2014,I became interested in this flexible and movable doll that mimics the principle of human joint movement. In the process of in-depth understanding of it,I found that its development process is basically consistent with the pace of consumerism’s global spread.Together with the BJD dolls, the BJD doll circle culture, which is based on the "baby raising tribe",has formed an inseparable whole, and even developed a complete language system and consumption model. After consulting the relevant professional literature,I found that the research on BJD culture is mostly a positive attitude obsessed with consumer culture, and it lacks a negative dimension of research discourse. Therefore,I went deep into the small group of "baby-raising people" and comprehensively examined the relationship between BJD dolls as commodities,BJD dolls as manufacturers, and baby circles as consumer groups. And only then did I truly understand the academic value and social significance of Debord and Baudrillard’s academic research. This article firstly summarizes the relevant research data of BJD dolls at home and abroad in the introduction, leading to the above research points. Then in Chapter Two,it analyzes the consumption structure and capital operation mode under the BJD culture through the symbolic meaning of dolls, the symbolic production of doll clubs and the symbolic consumption of doll circles. The third chapter discusses the phenomenon of material desire in the communication of the baby circle, and explores whether this free consumption mode satisfies the individual’s psychological demands while burying undetectable waste and coercion, thereby revealing the phantom core of consumer culture. And Chapter Four presents the materialization process of this research and thinking in detail. In terms of creative techniques,I borrow the temptation of the 19 th century Grimm’s fairy tale "Candy House" as a metaphor for the illusion of material desire in the consumer society. As for media materials, six ceramic BJD dolls are used as the main body and combined with local comprehensive materials to create a typical consumer society family scene surrounded by objects. From the perspective of style,I give the doll a kind of ancient and clumsy atmosphere in the Eastern style,in order to break away from the luxurious style of the glamorous commodity BJD doll.Through the creation of "Daily Life Landscape of Modern Family",I have transformed from a visionary who is immersed in a consumer society into a sober reflector, which also brings out the disenchantment and detoxification function of art and avoids the materialization of human nature.
