| Under the background of the new curriculum reform,the role of junior high school English reading is no longer limited to improving students’ comprehensive language use ability,but to further develop students’ thinking ability and cultivate their core competences of English subject on this basis.But the realization of thinking ability and core competences require students to have more breadth and depth of reading learning and exploration,and students need to do deep reading.Therefore,deep reading is an effective way to cultivate students’ thinking ability.Depth of English reading is on the basis of reasonable title,the article meaning,and grasp the structure of the article structure,depth of digging out the culture behind the language connotation as well as the emotional attitude to convey in the paper,the depth of the reading ability of students at the same time,let the students in the process of deep reading positive thinking,actively building new knowledge system,form the correct outlook on life values.It is of great significance to the development of students’ thinking ability.Based on the concept of deep reading,this study explores in-depth English reading teaching strategies to promote the development of junior high school students’ thinking ability,in the hope of providing some suggestions and references for junior high school English reading teaching.Through questionnaire survey and teacher interview,this study found that there are still some problems in the current English reading teaching in junior middle school,mainly teachers lack effective guidance on students’ reading,students lack of reading methods,poor reading initiative and weak transfer and application ability.Based on this,this paper puts forward the intervention strategies of deep reading in junior high school English:teachers give students the guidance of deep reading methods;Cultivate students’ reading initiative;Encourage creativity and exercise students’ ability of knowledge transfer and application.The author to promote the students deep reading for the three rounds of action research,through the comparison and test scores before and after on the depth of student interviews found that the students’ English reading ability has greatly improved,and the students’ thinking ability got better,especially the image thinking,logical thinking,critical thinking,creative thinking improve significantly.Through literature review and the analysis and discussion of my own front-line research results,the author finally put forward five teaching strategies to promote the deep reading of junior high school students:introduction to stimulate students’ motivation for deep reading;Create real situation,deep experience,develop students’ image thinking;Develop students’ logical thinking by using mind mapping skillfully and diverging deeply;Set up group discussion,deep thinking,develop students’ critical thinking;Assignment of creative homework,in-depth expansion,develop students’ innovative thinking.Through the research of this paper,it is hoped that it can provide substantial help to the development of junior high school students’ thinking ability and the improvement of junior high school English reading teaching. |
