Energy problems are emerging all over the world. At the same time, energy transformation is also facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges. On this basis, the exchange of energy research between different countries is very important and essential,so the translation of energy texts has developed rapidly in recent years. As the information text, nominalization and adjectivization are the typical features of the energy text which increase the text information density and make the language more objective. However, these two grammatical phenomena also cause great difficulties in the reading and translation of energy texts.Grammatical metaphor theory is a linguistic concept put forward by systemic functional linguist—Halliday who points out that nominalization metaphor and adjective metaphor are the common phenomena in information texts, and makes a thorough analysis of these two grammatical phenomena. This paper takes Transitions in Energy Efficiency and Demand as example, and studies nominalization metaphor and adjective metaphor of energy texts from the perspectives of functional components,lexico-grammatical transformation and discusses the translation strategies for nominalization metaphor and adjective metaphor in combination with translation examples. The report demonstrates that nominalization metaphor and adjective metaphor make the energy texts have a large number of long difficult sentences and make the logical relation of the text obscure.Translators should analyze the metaphor phenomena from the perspective of transitive system and make the translation more accurate and easier to be understood by the strategies of transforming the noun into verb and adjective, and transforming the adjective into verb and preposition.
