Research On Japanese Lifestyle Lacquerware

As the most striking category of contemporary Japanese lacquer art,Japanese lifestyle lacquerware has developed over a long period of time and has developed a certain style and scale of production.In fact,the development of Japanese lifestyle lacquerware has been based on several important social backgrounds and aesthetic trends:firstly,the central figure of the Mingei Movement,Yanagi Soetsu,laid the aesthetic foundation and guided the development of the craft for daily use,and The Meishitsu-kai,an organization of lacquer workers influenced by the Mingei ideology,also made an important contribution to its development.Secondly,the exhibitions and activities related to the Living Crafts trend after 2000,as a continuation and echo of contemporary craftsmanship to the Mingei ideology,further promoted the formation of the living lacquerware.This thesis analyzes the development,style evolution,artist groups,and specific cases of Japanese lifestyle lacquerware through a literature review and a combination of technical and craft history analysis,and further explores the aesthetic ideas and cultural roots behind the lifestyle lacquerware.This thesis is mainly divided into three parts.The first part of the paper analyzes the background of the Mingei Movement and the development of the Meishitsu-kai under the influence of the Mingei Movement,and introduces the cultural roots and ideological origins of the Living School lacquerware;the second part of the paper explains the contemporary craft trend of "Living Craft" and related activities after 2000,and sorts out the new face of contemporary Japanese crafts,and points out the diversity of the living academy lacquerware in this context.The third part of the paper presents the development of modern Chinese lacquerware and the influence of Japanese lacquerware in China,and then summarizes its implications for the teaching of lacquerware in Chinese institutions and for individual creators.This thesis collates and discusses these three parts,corroborating them layer by layer,systematically sorting out the development and current situation of Japanese lifestyle lacquerware,summarizing the representative figures,creative styles,and design concepts of lifetyle lacquerware,and on this basis elaborating its social significance and academic value to contemporary lacquer art and its inspiration to lacquer art in Chinese institutions.
