The Research On Development Of Daily Yangzhou Lacquerware's Form

Chinese lacquerware has a long history,in each period lacquerware's form are influenced by political economy,craft technology,culture,people lifestyle and aesthetic taste of the time.In the long river of history,lacquerware gradually become a kind of carrier of profound cultural heritage.We can realize the aesthetic and ideology in different periods through by researching the development of lacquerware's form,then get the idea and inspiration of how to put the traditional elements in modern lacquerware design.The research's subject is Yangzhou lacquerware whose history is more than 2000 years,and is a unique and excellent craft species.Mother-of-pearl lacquer is one of Yangzhou Lacquerware's craft,which retains wold-class,but without design and creative thoughts.In the recent several decades,Yangzhou lacquerware industry is facing with many problems,such as lacquerware style still remains in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,or doesn't have enough social awareness because of out of touch from people's life.In the paper named"The Research on Development of Daily Yangzhou Lacquerware's Form ",the author collect 461 daily lacquerwares,from prehistoric,Warring States, Qin, Han, Wei, Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing periods of ten in total,and classify the information by time and lacquerware-type,find the difference and connection in similar lacquerware-type of different periods,on the basis of research,the author system summarizes the design elements of Yangzhou lacquerware with diagram,to provide a theory of form for modern Yangzhou lacquerware design and innovation,making the past serve the present.At the same time,author classify the lacquer-shape by function,and do a further research in form manner and form concept,propose a manner for daily lacquerware,and make a discussion on making things meaningful and the concept of follow function for modern lacquerware design.
