Research On Xiong Shili’s Metaphysics And Science

The core questions of the debate on the relationship between science and metaphysics in the 1920 s are "whether science can dominate metaphysics ","how science dominates metaphysics "," how science and metaphysics merge" and so on.Although Xiong Shili was not in it,he looked at the problem with a more healthy and sober view,and made an explanation that was different from both the metaphysics and the science.Xiong Shili believes that science and metaphysics must govern each other and merge with each other in order to promote the development and progress of Chinese philosophy,and then give birth to new philosophical ideas with the characteristics of the times.Therefore,he tried his best to integrate the essence of Chinese,Western and Indian thought,and created the theoretical point of view of "body use is not the same ",so as to try to complete the historical task of integration of science and metaphysics.Xiong Shili believes that the primary task of philosophy is to explore the ontology of the universe.Therefore,Xiong Shili’s philosophy should also be called ontology philosophy.Xiong Shili believes that philosophical inquiry into the ontology of the universe is not simply to see the body,but to take it as the foundation of the universe.The reason for his doing so is to respond to the impact of western science,to find out the metaphysical foundation of science from Chinese traditional ontology,and to explain the theory for the integration of science and metaphysics.This is also the historical mission of the modern new Confucianism generation after generation.However,how Xiong Shili from the perspective of Chinese traditional philosophy to integrate western science,as well as whether the ideological path is perfect and other related issues need to be further clarified and discussed.Therefore,this paper attempts to rethink and explore this problem from three dimensions: ontology,kung fu theory and phenomenology from the perspective of some doubts existing in Xiong Shili’s theoretical system.
