The Core Of Contemporary Epistemology

Evidentialism and Reliabilism are the two most important thesis of epistemological justification.They have different response to problem that,what the justification is,evidence fitting the belief or the reliable progress.Both of them form a theory that could clarify the basic source of the justification.And it should be noted that,Evidentialism establishes itself by the approach to totally critique of Reliabilism.Since the end of the last century,a trend of reforming Reliabilism has been developed,in which the most representative one is Evidential Reliabilism.From the perspective of epistemological development history,this article would firstly discusses the epistemological divergence cause by Gettier’s problem.Afterwards interprets the uniqueness of epistemological justification theory by analysis of theories,which formed historically.With the aids of belief analysis,Evidentialism and Reliabilism would be thoroughly explained and analyzed.It would be clarified that,what evidence is,how we can have it and fit the belief with it,by the cord viewpoint from Evidentialism.Evidentialists oppose obtaining the reliability of justification outside from belief,therefore they doubt the concept of Reliability,that consumed by Reliabilism.On the contrary,Reliabilists believe that,it is available to gain the Reliability outside from belief.Even so,they still against the theory of structure of justification.Reliability could not be deducted from the above but the progress of justification.This article would introduce the problem that,justification without Reliability,Reliability without justification and the generality problem,which be proposed by Evidentialism and other school.And the answers from Goldman and Evidential Reliabilism.Under the principle of Evidential Relibilism,how could we pull the memory in,turn it to a basic source of justification at the last of article.
