Non suicidal self injury(NSSI)refers to the behavior that individuals cut themselves with a knife,scratch or scratch themselves with nails,and hurt themselves with hard objects.It is a kind of pathological behavior with great harm but unknown mechanism.The incidence of self injury behavior is very high.The occurrence of this behavior will not only affect the mental health of teenagers,but also have an important impact on the stability of the whole society.Domestic studies believe that the occurrence of this behavior is mostly related to parental rearing style,academic achievement,interpersonal relationship and so on.In the society,there are many events about teenagers’ self injury behavior and even suicide caused by improper parental education.Desperate children choose to jump to solve their depression.Such events are shocking.Therefore,exploring the impact of parents’ academic upward comparison on adolescents’ self injurious behavior can provide a necessary basis for intervening and improving adolescents’ self injurious behavior,so as to avoid its adverse effects.Based on the theory of psychological needs,this study explores the impact of parents’ academic upward comparison on self injury behavior.Using the questionnaire method,757 adolescents were selected as subjects.The parents’ academic upward comparison scale,perceived distrust scale,Chinese version of Kutcher adolescent depression scale and self injury behavior scale were used to measure,and the data were analyzed and processed by SPSS software.The results are as follows:(1)there is a positive correlation between parents’ academic upward comparison,distrust of perceived ability,distrust of perceived effort,depression and self injury behavior.That is,parents’ academic upward comparison is significantly positively correlated with perceived ability distrust,perceived effort distrust,depression and self injury behavior;Perceived ability distrust was positively correlated with perceived effort distrust,depression and self injury behavior;Perceived effort distrust was positively correlated with depression and self injury behavior;There was a significant positive correlation between depression and self injury behavior;(2)Depression plays a mediating role between parents’ academic upward comparison and self injury behavior;(3)Perceived distrust plays a mediating role between parents’ academic upward comparison and depression;(4)Perceived effort distrust and depression play a sequential mediating role between parents’ academic upward comparison and self injury behavior.According to the research results,the conclusions are as follows:(1)parents’ academic upward comparison will significantly increase self injury behavior;(2)Parents’ upward academic comparison will lead to the increase of self injury behavior by increasing depression;(3)Parents’ academic upward comparison will lead to depression by increasing distrust of perceived effort;(4)Parents’ academic upward comparison will make teenagers feel that their efforts are not trusted,which will lead to depression and increase self injurious behavior. |
