Since Japanese women first participated in power in 1945,until the late 1980 s,the participation of Japanese women in politics continued to be depressed. In 1989,Tohiko,the first Socialist Party leader, set off the “Tuai whirlwind” and led Japanese women to participate in politics into the 1990 s.However,in the 21 st century,Japanese women participating in politics has changed.Although the proportion of female lawmakers is rising, the formulation of women-related policies has stagnated or even reversed, and the status and status of women in Japanese politics have also changed. This paper will take the history of Japanese women participating in politics from the Meiji Restoration to 1989,take two representative female politicians Tohiko Tui and Koike as examples, study the current situation of Japanese women participating in politics since 1989,and analyze the current situation, characteristics, influencing factors and improvement methods of Japanese women participating in politics.Guided by marxism, adhere to the combination of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, break the single perspective of history and literature analysis, and on the basis of the former and the theoretical knowledge, through the interdisciplinary perspective,to 1989 newspapers and magazine articles, translation, interpretation, through the interpretation of the original literature and two female politicians’ books and articles, using the method of history theory, starting from four parts, the 1989.The first part is to review the historical context of Japanese women’s participation in politics.According to the chronological order,it is mainly divided into three time periods: the movement of Japanese women participation before World War II,the general situation of Japanese women participation after World War II to 1989,and the current situation of Japanese women participation in politics from 1989.In the context of Japanese women participating in politics since 1989,it is carefully divided into the situation of Japanese women participating in politics in the 1990 s and those in Japan since 2000.In the second part,Takako Doi —— the first female speaker of Japan, studied her political experience and ideas. As a model of “political subject”,she set off a “Doi whirlwind” and led Japanese women to participate in politics into the leap forward era.Toshiko Toai insists on speaking out for women, promoting the Japanese government to amend the laws on discrimination against women, seriously promoting“female politics”,striving for the rights of women in Japan, promoting the realization of the Japanese gender equality society, and making great contributions to the participation of Japanese women in politics. The third part studies Yuriko Koike, the Japanese first female defense minister and —— of Tokyo Governor,to study her political experience and ideas. As a typical representative of the “object of politics”,Koike opened a new path for women committed to take the political path in the 21 st century. The fourth part studies the current situation of Japanese women participating in politics from 1989,and mainly analyzes the characteristics and influencing factors of Japanese women’s political participation. The Japanese suffragette was acquired later,From 1989 to present,The development of the Japanese female suffragette is relatively slow; The gap in the proportion of women in Japan’s House of Representatives and Senate,The proportion of female members in different regions of Japanese local councils is unbalanced,The proportion of male and female heads in Japanese regions is unbalanced; The Japanese government does not really support a gender equality policy,Once pro-gender recoil parties hold power,The process of women participating in politics will stagnate or even reverse;Contradictions between growing female lawmakers and stagnant women-related policies; The Japanese government is not actively promoting the process of granting the suffragette, making women-related policies and improving the status of female lawmakers in Japanese politics. The factors influencing Japanese women’s participation in politics are mainly divided into five categories: first, international factors, mainly driven by the World Women’s Congress. The second is the domestic political factor in Japan, mainly the restriction of political party politics and the influence of the electoral system.Third, socioeconomic factors, including increased female participation in the labor market, increased women’s education, increased women’s groups and funding organizations, and socialization of household chores and childcare. The fourth is Japan’s male-dominated political culture restriction, and it is difficult for women to integrate into the male-dominated Japanese politics. The fifth is personal and environmental factors, including stubborn sense of division of labor and weak political participation, obstacles of family and relatives, and the influence of regional environment. The development of Japanese female participation in politics can,to a certain extent, change the male-centered political and cultural tradition from ancient times, and provide a female perspective for the Japanese government to formulate relevant policies. Therefore,in order to improve the participation of Japanese women in politics, not only the Japanese government and Japanese civil groups, but also the efforts of Japanese women themselves. The most effective way in a short time is to adopt the quota system in the electoral system.
