On The Images Of Wise Men In Chen Yan’s Novels

Chen Yan,one of the famous contemporary novelists from Shaanxi,whose literary works occupy an important position in the field of Chinese contemporary literature.The image of wise men is a special type of characters in Chen Yan’s novels.They have extraordinary wisdom,a certain degree of discourse power in the society and a certain degree of social credibility.This paper adopts the method of text analysis,taking Chen Yan’s four novels Xijing Story,Zhuang Tai,Protagonist and Comedy as objects,sorting out and analyzing the various images of wise men and their cultural implications,and deeply discussing the value and significance of the image of wise men in Chen Yan’s novels.This thesis consists of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The first part is the introduction part,which mainly combs the current domestic research status of Chen Yan’s novel creation,and expounds the reason and significance of the topic.Through sorting out,we find that there are a lot of research materials about the characters in Chen Yan’s novels,but there is a lack of special research on the wise men in Chen Yan’s novels.The second part is the body part,mainly including three aspects:Firstly,it deeply interprets the cultural connotation of wise man and analyzes what kind of talents can be called wise man.With knowledge and experience as the classification basis of the images of wise men,the images of wise men in Chen Yan’s four novels（Xijing Story,Zhuang Tai,Protagonist and Comedy）are divided into the following three categories: knowledge-based wise men,experiential wise men,and wise men who combine knowledge and experience.Secondly,the cultural implication behind the image of the wise man is analyzed.Yedda Chen in the novel the wise image generated from society is a combination of all kinds of ideology and culture,as a result,this part will from Confucianism,Taoism,Buddhism culture,regional culture,drama culture three aspects,analysis of writers in all kinds of cultural resources in the social environment,the formation of the image to the wise of the influence of different level.Thirdly,this aspect analyzes the social value and cultural significance of Chen Yan’s image as a wise man.The reason why Chen Yan created a number of charismatic groups of wise men in his novels is that,first of all,it represents the writer’s own complex and diverse cultural mentality to a certain extent.Secondly,it can lead readers deeper into the novel and bring readers deeper aesthetic experience;Finally,as a kind of figure image with cultural symbolic meaning,the wise man is more conducive to exert the enlightenment function of literary works in imperceptible way.The third part is the conclusion.This paper summarizes the types of the images of the wise men in Chen Yan’s novels,the cultural connotations behind the images of the wise men,and the meaning of the images of the wise men,and shows the writer’s reflection on traditional culture and modern civilization through the writing of the images of the wise men.
