Exploration On The Meaning Of Realistic Language In Contemporary Watermark Print

Watermark woodcut is an important category of Chinese traditional art.Its historical value is closely related to the invention of Chinese block printing.Contemporary lithography combines the traditional woodblock watermarking method with modern creative printmaking,and adopts the ink and wash techniques of Chinese painting.Through the rich visual effects of vivid charm and thick and light halo,it presents distinctive national characteristics and regional artistic charm.Realistic language,as an early painting concept in the history of human painting,plays an irreplaceable role in the development of painting art.Watermark print has been paying more attention to realistic language,and the exploration and practice of its intrinsic deduction are also ongoing.Based on the author’s artistic practice of creating a series of watermark prints of the Products of the Times,this paper discusses the meaning and connotation of the realistic language of contemporary watermark prints.This paper mainly discusses from three parts.The first part is an overview of the realistic language produced in the history of art.The second part discusses the application of realistic language in contemporary watermark print（mainly since the founding of new China）.The third part discusses more possibilities of realistic language in the creation of contemporary watermark print combined with the author’s specific practical cases.Through the discussion of the above three parts,the author hopes to explore the meaning of realistic language in contemporary watermark print,in order to broaden the creative concept,improve the creative level,create more watermark print works with a certain level,and contribute to the development of watermark print art in the future.
